Press Release
"This is the real deal and just the beginning. This is the same company that insures the PGA & LPGA -- It's taken us a year to put this together."
Neither the council nor any of their representatives are receiving any financial benefit from this endorsement.
To accomplish this, the WBC has partnered with Davidow Financial and Insurance Services and Consolidated Workers Association to make these benefits available. “This is a historic step for us. I am proud that the WBC & NABF are offering another important protection for our boxers, trainers, coaches and their families,” said Jill Diamond. “I want to compliment Presidents Jose Sulaiman and Rex Walker for making these benefits possible.” Health benefit plans will be available to boxers and their families in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Plans are in the works to extend the coverage to other countries as well. Now, any member of the boxing community, and their family, can voluntarily obtain affordable health benefits. “The WBC health benefit program is the most recent example of our creativity and dedication that Davidow Financial and Insurance Services provide its clients,” said President Glenn Davidow. “We think the program will score a knockout for the WBC boxers and their families,” Davidow added smiling. Los Angeles based Davidow Financial and Insurance Services has earned a reputation for serving large as well as smaller firms, including other associations in its 29 year history. “This is a dream come true. It is our privilege to work with Davidow Financial.” Diamond said. “With the leadership of the World Boxing Council, the NABF and the determination of World Boxing Cares, we can now do what was seemingly impossible.”
