GARY, Ind., May 30 -- One In A Million, Inc. CEO Octavius James announced today the partnering of One In A Million Inc. and the Gary Railcats in association with Majestic Star Casino & US Steel Gary Works for one memorable boxing event.
Combining the efforts of both organizations, James looks to make history for boxing, baseball, and the City of Gary this summer. On August 2nd prepare for fireworks and knockouts as World Championship Professional Boxing will fill the field at Railcats Stadium. This event is truly history in the making, for the Railcats it will be the first boxing event held at the stadium, for One In A Million it will be the five year celebration of it's Northwest Indiana Boxing Series, and for the region and boxing this will be the first event where Professional boxing and baseball have come together to put on a World Championship fight in Chicagoland in over 45 years when Sonny Liston fought Floyd Patterson for the World Heavyweight Title in 1962 at Comiskey Park.
When asked about the event, James said, "This is just another dream come true for me, growing up in Gary it is always special to come back to the City. Last year we were able to bring the first Internationally Televised event to Gary and this year to celebrate our fifth year of boxing in Northwest Indiana with such a historical event you can not ask for anything more. Growing up in Gary, I played little league baseball and you always dreamed about stepping on the big league fields and playing with the best and to have an organization like the Railcats who have brought that big league excitement to Gary, is just wonderful. Bringing two of my favorite pastimes together is an amazing experience and let me tell the fans now, that on August 2nd they can expect fireworks inside the ring and can stay for the celebration fireworks display afterwards."
Bill Terlecky, Vice President and General Manager for the Railcats shared in James' enthusiasm. "We are excited to be able to work with Gary Native and One In A Million CEO Octavius James. This event is a natural fit for us... we look forward to this whole event, it will be a great addition to the summer schedule of events at the stadium."
The fighters for August 2nd, "Steelyard Brawl" will be announced at the first Official Press Conference, which will be held next week.
