U.S. Olympic Boxing Team Hosts Open Training Session at Gleason's This Friday!
Workouts commence at 11 A.M. Friday, July 11th

NEW YORK -- The United States Olympic Boxing Team will be holding their final open training session at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 11 at the legendary Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, N.Y. The eight-member squad, which is ranked number two in the world, will make a final swing through New York, July 10-12, before departing for Beijing on July 21.

The open training session will include every element of a boxing workout, including heavy and speed bag work, shadowboxing, mitts and jump ropes. It will be the last training session open to the media before the team departs for Beijing on July 21.

Amateur Boxing Benefit Show

Our next boxing show on Saturday July 19th will be a benefit for the reelection of Assemblyman Darryl C. Townes.

Darryl is a good friend of Gleason's Gym and has sponsored our White Collar Bill in the Assembly. The Bill A 12058 will exempt white collar boxing from regulation by the state boxing commission.

All bouts are pre-matched by New York's finest matchmaker, Angela Querol. The weigh-in starts at 5:00PM and the first bout will be at 7:00PM.

Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for gym members and amateur fighters with passbooks in hand.
