Manny Roman Issues Challenge to Koki Kameda!

Press Release

LOS ANGELES, Calif., July 10, 2008 -- Highly regarded unbeaten flyweight prospect Manny “SUAVECITO” Roman has issued a challenge to former junior flyweight world champion Koki Kameda.

“I know he’s fighting this weekend in Mexico, but he was very public about fighting bigger fights in the near future in Las Vegas I’m unbeaten and ready to fight him next,” said the 20 year old Roman.

Roman, a native of Tijuana, Mexico, now living in the Los Angeles area, most recently captured the WBC Continental Americas Flyweight Title on April 7th, taking a ten round decision over Sergio Espinoza to raise his record to 12-0 with five knockouts.

Said Roman’s manager, Frank Espinoza, “We’ve watched Kameda fight and we feel that Manny is ready at this time for the step up. I know that Kameda’s fighting a guy in Mexico this weekend and he’s bragging about knocking him out in the third round. It’s obvious he’s looking for stiffer competition and we feel like we have just what he’s looking for.”

THE ESPINOZA BOXING CLUB stays very busy this weekend with world ranked lightweight Miguel Huerta facing Juan Ramon Cruz in the SOLO BOXEO main event on Friday night from Corpus Christi, Texas.
