Five unbeaten boxers fight on July 18th in Maywood’s “Rise to Glory"

Several of the best promises of Southern California boxing will have an opportunity to prove their talent in the international boxing card "Rise to Glory" to be held July 18th in Maywood, California.The card will be promoted by Crossroads Promotions, headed by Eddie Gonzalez.

In the event that starts at 7:30 at night in Maywood Community Center, five talented boxers arrive unbeaten, led by German of Russian origin, Ramzan Adaev, who comes in with record of 6-0, after an extensive career in amateur boxing, where he won several regional European titles, before entering professionalism.

Alike, the billboard highlights the brilliant former Cuban amateur, Lester "Cubanito" Gonzalez, who also making his debut in the Los Angeles area.

The local talent will be headed by the unbeaten fighters Charles Huerta and Efrain Esquivias, who have made a successful transition to professionalism, after brilliant careers in amateur boxing and already have a good legion of local fans following their careers.

Huerta is a native of Paramount, California and is unbeaten in 4 professional fights.Esquivias, Carson, California, will be making his third fight as a professional.

The fights:

In the feature bout, Ramzam Adaev (6-0-1, 6 KO's) will make his first fight outside Germany, facing Roberto "Sugar" Ventura, Villahermosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

After a perfect start winning 5 fights, Ventura has fallen in six straight fights, including a disqualification. But the Mexican fighter is confident in his experience to succeed in this challenge. Ventura already has a fight for the title of Youth World Boxing Council.

In the co feature bout, Lester "Cubanito" Gonzalez 6-0, 5KO's) will go against Jason Douglas, Las Vegas, another unbeaten fighter. Douglas is not afraid of the fame that follows Gonzalez, now fighting out of San Diego. In his last start, Douglas (5-0) came to Southern California, to snatch a victory over previously unbeaten Jesus Berrelleza in a card presented in April at the Doubletree Hotel, Ontario, California.

In another fight, Charles Huerta makes his second fight in less than a month after beating Manuel Sarabia in a rematch, on a card held last June 27th at Casino Morongo.

Huerta will meet Oscar Marin, of Las Vegas, Nevada, while Efrain Esquivias faces Frank Gutierrez, of San Bernardino. Esquivias makes his return to Maywodd after a first round knock out over Rogelio Valenzuela in his latest presentation in February.

The function will be complemented by the fight between Richard Ellis and Luis Martinez. Ellis makes his return to Maywood, after having lost a close fight in his professional debut last February in this same venue.

Tickets for the evening will be available at the box office of Maywood Community Center. Prices are $35; $45; and $65. Doors will open at 6:00 PM, with music provided by the rock band Mistaken Future.
