The first Boxing / MMA Extravaganza “The Return of the Legends” will be this July 18, 2008 at the Reliant Arena, where HECTOR "MACHO" CAMACHO will be fighting to regain his title against PERRY "THE PUNISHER" BALLARD.

The first show, a FIGHT NIGHT TRIPLE HEADER, featuring women’s boxing icon Christy “The Coal Miner’s Daughter” Martin in a NABF Championship fight. Recognized as the First Lady of Boxing, Martin touts a record of 47 wins (31 by knockout), 5 losses and 2 draws. A sure inductee into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Martin goal is to accumulate 50 wins before calling it a career.

Standing in her way is a formidable opponent, Houston area favorite Valerie “The Wolfe” Mahfood. Mahfood has made her fame fighting the world’s toughest female fighters. With a record of 19 wins (9 by knockout), 14 losses and 3 draws the colorful Beaumont native, who often enters the ring with a purple Mohawk, has fought the best, including Laila Ali and Ann Wolfe.

Christy Martin will move her training camp to Houston Texas as of July 9th. Martin, 47-1-2, 31 knockouts, will train and spar at the Main Gym downtown Houston. Martin (featured in this months issue of Undefeated Magazine) is training for her July 18th NABF title bout with Valerie, “The Wolfe” Mahfood. Martin is recognized as the First Lady of Boxing and is best known for her rough and tumble bouts on many of the Mike Tyson cards. Mahfood is always well conditioned and brings true knockout power. The championship belt is on the line.

If Martin vs. Mahfood isn’t enough, Hall of Fame trainer Angelo Dundee will return to Houston with his latest talent Hector “Macho” Camacho. Camacho 78-5-2, 37 knockouts, is a true boxing legend and will have his hands full with current World Champion Perry Ballard (20-1).

Many of Texas’s best Mixed Martial Arts fighters are also on the packed July 18th show. Jose Santibanez will battle Johnathan Brookins, local favorite Daniel Pineda will fight Vince Libardi and Matt Rangel goes up against Mike Bronzoulis.

The fans will also see two undefeated boxers go against each other when John “The Lion” Rarden fights Jon David Charles. The show also includes Houston Heavyweight Justin Jones and local favorite Guadalupe Martinez.
