Deandre 'The Bull' Latimore Steams in Las Vegas, Willing to Fight 'Anytime, Anywhere!'

Press Release

LAS VEGAS, NV (July 21, 2008) With the temperature scorching in the boxing capital of the world, Las Vegas, NV, junior middleweight Deandre “THE BULL” Latimore is back in the gym preparing for a bout that he hopes will be announced soon.

Said the 22 year old St. Louis native, “I’m ready to fight when they call, I took a couple of weeks off to relax after the Powell fight back home but I was out here by the end of June.” Latimore knocked out world ranked contender Sechew Powell in the seventh round on June 11th, a fight broadcast live on ESPN2 from the Hard Rock Café in Times Square, New York City.

“I know Powell was ranked very high before we fought and in line for a title shot with Verno Phillips. I’d love to make that fight or fight Cory Spinks in a city showdown in St. Louis. Truthfully, I just want to fight again and soon, preferably someone that can lead to bigger fights down the line.” Phillips won the IBF world title on March 27th with a twelve split decision win over Spinks in St. Louis.

Latimore is currently training at the Striking Unlimited Gym in Las Vegas with noted trainer Kenny Adams.

“It’s nice out here, pretty quiet, just go to the gym and train and come home. I love St. Louis and it will always be my home, but coming out here was the best thing for my career,” said the graduate of perennial basketball powerhouse Vashon High School.

“ Lot of championship teams came out of Vashon, that’s my goal, to win a world title. Folks might not have thought much of me before the Powell fight, that’s fine I’m cool with proving it to them each time out.”
