LOS ANGELES, Calif., July 22, 2008 -- Espinoza Boxing Club prospect Abraham Lopez heads to the boxing capital of the world, Las Vegas, NV this Friday night, July 25th, as he takes on Cuauhtemoc Mendoza, 5-5-1 (1KO), in a scheduled four round lightweight bout at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Café.

The Lopez/Mendoza bout will take place on the Top Rank promoted SOLO BOXEO TECATE card headlined by a terrific welterweight bout between Jesus Soto-Karass and David Estrada. Ticket information can be obtained by visiting the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino website at www.hardrockhotel.com/las-vegas.

Since turning pro earlier this year, the 20 year old Lopez, from La Puente, California has won his first two professional bouts by first round knockouts.

Said Frank Espinoza, President of Espinoza Boxing Club, “Abraham has looked terrific in his first two bouts in California. Mendoza is a very tough veteran and this is a step up in competition. I also want to see how he handles being in Las Vegas, especially the weekend of the Cotto/Margarito fight.

Next Wednesday night, July 30th, we’ve got Carlos Molina and Luis Ramos fighting at the Sycuan Resort and Casino so it continues to be a very busy summer with our young undefeated prospects that we’re very high on.”

The ESPINOZA BOXING CLUB was started in 1991 by Los Angeles area businessman Frank Espinoza. Espinoza has earned numerous accolades for his management skills from many boxing newspaper and internet writers. In the September 2008 issue of Ring Magazine, Espinoza is praised for his outstanding handling of the career of junior featherweight world champion and “Pound for Pound” superstar Israel “EL MAGNIFICO” Vazquez.

Espinoza also has managed retired former world champion Martin “EL GALLITO” Castillo and currently manages former world champion Julio “LA SOMBRA” Zarate along with world ranked Alex Valdez and Miguel “EL ANESTESISTA” Huerta in addition to undefeated prospects Manuel “SUAVECITO” Roman, Jesus “POLLO” Hernandez, Luis Ramos, Carlos Molina and Abraham Lopez.
