POST FIGHT QUOTES

Matt Godfrey: “He started slowing down in the third round. If you start slow, you gotta finish fast, not just for three rounds.

“It was a flash knockdown. We were exchanging rights. He didn’t hurt me.”

“I broke his nose with a jab.”

“He slowed down in the third and I knew my conditioning was good. I kept pressuring him. Even though I got hot with a few good shots, I knew he’d slow down and die.”
Matt Remillard: “I think the body punches did it. I wanted to take control from the start. I hurt him with that left hook to the head.”

“I had fought twice before on ESPN and they weren’t my best performances. I prepared for this to be my best fight and it was. I’m glad I got him out of there.”
Jason Estrada: “I hurt my hand in the second round. It’s reoccurring but as long as it isn’t my left, I can fight. He tried but fell back. He came to fight and win…for a while.”

“I hurt him with a couple of body shots. But I couldn’t throw the right when I wanted.”

“Despite not stopping him, I got the W. I kept trying to get him out of there. I’d hit him with 3 shots off fast, but the third was a right and I didn’t have any power. I landed a lot of clean shots. Other than my hand, I feel good, and I got a good W.”
