YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, October 23, 2008 -- Undefeated lightweight prospect, Carney Bowman, the pride of York, Pennsylvania, is busy preparing for his next fight, headlining “THE BATTLE AT YORK II” on Saturday, November 8th at the Valencia Ballroom.

The Valencia Ballroom is located at 142 N. George St in the downtown area of York, PA. Tickets, with a five dollar discount prior to fight night, are on sale in advance at www.tix.com or by calling 800-595-4849. Doors will open on the night of the event at 6:30pm with the first bell at 7:30pm.

“I love fighting in York, this is my home, I was born and raised here so they know me and have been very supportive. The expectations are a little higher in front of the hometown crowd but that’s the way I like it” said the 25 year old Bowman.

Training out of the Lincolnway Sportcenter, under the long time tutelage of Julio Alvarez, Bowman is preparing diligently for November 8th. “I’ve been with Julio since I was ten, training out of his gym. Training here in York is the perfect environment for me.”

“Typically I’m up early to get my running in, about four miles every morning. Lately I’ve been sparring with Doel Carrasquillo in Lancaster . He’s bigger than me so it gives me a chance to use my strength as well as my speed” said Bowman of the heavy handed Puerto Rican welterweight.

On July 25th, Bowman headlined the first BATTLE AT YORK, sweeping Cuban veteran Alex Perez on all three judges’ scorecards, winning a six round decision.

More information on Bowman’s fight will be announced shortly. Other fighters on the November 8th card include local undefeated welterweight Steve Weimer, undefeated junior welterweight prospect Terrance Crawford of Omaha, Nebraska and undefeated welterweight prospect Raul Tovar of Mission, Texas .

Making his pro debut on the card is the much heralded captain of the 2008 Ghanan Boxing Olympic Team, middleweight Bastie “THE BEAST” Samir.

Much more information on this card will be announced shortly.

Formed earlier this year, the Las Vegas based TKO Boxing Promotions stable also includes: junior middleweight Anthony Thompson, middleweight James Countryman, lightweight Rolando Reyes, the sister team of Katie and Emily Klinefelter, super bantamweight Rafael Valenzuela and junior flyweight Austreberto Juarez.
