CHICAGO, October 22, 2008 -- Nationally known ring announcer Thomas Treiber dons the headphone and microphone this Saturday night, October 25th, as he handles “blow by blow” duties for the Fox Sports Net broadcast of the “EXPLOSIONS OVER THE MIDLANDS” world class professional boxing event.

“'Blow by blow announcing is truly a passion of mine, it gives me an opportunity to truly interact with the fight fans watching the broadcast. I’m very happy that Fox Sports Net and Standing 8 Count Productions selected me for this opportunity” said Treiber.

“EXPLOSIONS OVER THE MIDLANDS,” broadcast from the Township Auditorium in Columbia, South Carolina, features ten world class bouts headlined by an IBF International Super Middleweight bout between Jean Paul “THE PROFOUND” Mendy and Jason “Notorious” Naugler.

This past Thursday night, October 16th, Treiber pitched in for charity as the host and ring announcer for legendary football player Dick Butkus’ Foundation fund raiser at the Park West Theater in Chicago. The star studded event featured an action packed evening of amateur boxing.

Said Treiber, “Working with Dick Butkus was terrific. It was a pleasure to assist him in raising money for his charitable foundation and I look forward to next year’s event.”

Thomas Treiber has been amongst the most visible and versatile announcers in boxing, mixed martial arts and professional wrestling for the last seventeen years.. His credits include work on HBO, Showtime, CBS Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports Net, Spike TV and Pay Per View events. He can be contacted through his website at www.thomastreiber.com or by calling 219-801-9433.
