WASHINGTON D.C. – At the Howard University Burr Arena on the undercard of tonight’s Jesse Brinkley vs. James Johnson match, Chicago’s popular journeyman boxer David “The Weezel” (sic) Estrada will challenge Kreshnik Cato (17-6, 2 KO’s) for the World Boxing Foundation middleweight title.

Estrada, who weighed in at 159 lbs. at the weigh-in Friday night, said, “I’m fighting Saturday for the WBF belt. This is an opportunity especially for a guy of my status, with my record. I’m going to make the best of it and bring back a world title to Chicago. This is not the Illinois State Belt – this is for a world title. I’m just going to make the best of it. This is what everyone trains for, and to get paid on top of it.”

Estrada continued, “I have two dreams and two goals: One is to become a world champion—which is the WBF Champion—and the other is to be in law enforcement. And they’re both in my grasp.

“I don’t know anything about this guy –this guy's Albanian and they come in their best condition and they come to fight.”

David Estrada’s record of 12-10 with 9 knockouts is deceptive, as it includes a host of dangerous opponents such as Peter Quillin, James Kirkland, Elvin Ayala, Renan St. Juste, Louis Turner and Michael Walker.
