Demarcus "Chop Chop" Corley Added to Feb. 3 Darwish Brothers Card

Press Release

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ -- Former Junior-Welterweight champion Demarcus "Chop Chop" Corley has been added to the Darwish Brothers Knockout Promotions show now scheduled for Tuesday, February 3. Corley, who won the WBO 140 pound title with a dramatic first round KO of Felix Flores in 2001, will compete in a ten-round contest against an opponent to be named later.

Corley defended his world title twice before dropping a close decision to Zab Judah. Over the course of his career, Corley has thrilled fans with his performances against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Miguel Cotto and Junior Witter.

"I'm looking for 2009 to be one of the best years of my career," says Corley, 32-10-1 (18 KO), of Washington DC. "I want to fight 6 or 7 times and then win another world title. It will be a great opportunity for me to fight on the East Coast again. I'm looking to put on an exciting fight for the fans. I will do my best to score a knockout."

Says Wally Darwish: "We feel that 'Chop Chop' Corley needs to get on the right road to get to his destination. We want to be the vehicle to drive him there. He's only a few fights away from regaining a world championship. We'll get him the fights, he has to earn the wins."

Tickets, priced $100 for Ringside and $50 for Reserved, are on sale now. Tickets purchased for the original January 22 date will be honored at the door. For ticket purchase information and other inquiries, call (973) 339-9611. The Sheraton Hotel is located at 2 Meadowlands Plaza in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
