NEW YORK CITY (February 22, 2009) Tampa based heavyweight prospect Lenroy “TNT” Thomas improved to 11-1-0 (7KO’s), with a four round unanimous decision win over Terrell Nelson on Saturday night at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Fighting on the off-TV portion of the Top Rank produced “Two World Title Fights—One Night” card, the brick house built southpaw Thomas, dominated Nelson, now 9-8-0 (6KO’s), from the opening bell with his piston like jab and strong overhand left crosses.

Scores at the end of the bout were 40-36, 40-35 and 39-37, all in favor of the 23 year old Jamaican born Thomas.

Said Chet Koerner, President of TKO BOXING Promotions, ‘This was a nice solid win for Lenroy, his hard work in the gym with Dan Birmingham is paying off. He was in great shape and really took the fight to Nelson.”

“We’d like to get a step up fight for him in the next two months, either something on ESPN or Shobox. The American heavyweight landscape is a little barren right now and we think that Lenroy came really make some noise in 2009.”

Formed in early 2008, Chet Koerner’s Las Vegas based TKO BOXING Promotions stable includes; heavyweight Lenroy Thomas,

super middleweight Joey Gilbert, middleweights Elvin Ayala, Albert Onolunose and James Countryman, junior middleweights Bastie Samir and Anthony Thompson, welterweight Juan Buendia and Raul Tovar, junior welterweights Jonathan Gover, Francisco Contreras and Hastings Bwayla, lightweights Rolando Reyes and Terrance Crawford, featherweights Matt Remillard, Carney Bowman, Delvin Placencia, Rafael Lora and Maxwell Awaku, super bantamweights Rafael Valenzuela and Carlos Reyes.
