Abraham Lopez Returns to Action in Ontario This Friday Night!

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 24, 2009) Undefeated junior lightweight prospect Abraham Lopez will return to action this Friday night, February 27th in the feature bout at NEW BLOOD III at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, California.
The heavy handed 21 year old Lopez, newly signed to Southern California based Thompson Boxing Promotions, has run his pro record to 5-0 (4KO’s) since making his debut last March. He will square off against Los Mochis, Mexico veteran Manuel Sarabia, 16-28-9 (10KO’s) in a scheduled six round bout.
Said manager Frank Espinoza, “We’ve moved Abraham rather quickly, this is his third scheduled six rounder, but with the work he’s put in at the gym and his confidence in the ring, we feel he’s on the right track. The last two guys he knocked out early but Sarabia is a lot tougher and should be a solid test for Abraham.”
In his last bout, Lopez knocked out Alvaro Muro in the second round on December 11th at the Marriott Hotel in Irvine , California .
“Ideally, we’d like to have six starts for Abraham in 2009; he’s young but very professional in his approach. The fans are in for a real treat on Friday night as they get to watch Abraham’s progress” continued Espinoza.

Espinoza, born and bred in East Los Angeles, was a huge fan of the sport and eventually went on to establish himself as one of the top managers in the world of boxing.
In 2006, Espinoza was awarded the Manager of the Year award from the World Boxing Hall of Fame and inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame.
Espinoza’s management style has earned him numerous accolades from several respected print and internet boxing writers. In the September 2008 issue of Ring Magazine, Espinoza was praised for his outstanding handling of the career of junior featherweight world champion and “Pound for Pound” superstar Israel “EL MAGNIFICO” Vazquez.
Along with managing Vazquez also manages a young squad of talented and promising fighters composed of Luis Ramos, Carlos Molina, Abraham Lopez, Ronny Rios, Manny “Suavecito” Roman and Jesus “Pollo” Hernandez.
Among the world champions Espinoza has managed in the past are Martin “Gallito” Castillo, Enrique Sanchez, Isidro “ Chino ” Garcia and “Mighty” Mike Anchondo.
