“I’m thrilled to be here and most thankful to John Wirt and the entire Square Ring team and Mark Reels from the NABO along with Paco Valcarcel and the WBO for sanctioning this fight. I have trained very hard and will be coming in well prepared. This fight WILL not go the distance".

The Arizona based Flores, 22-0-1 (14KO’s); now training in Las Vegas is ranked #7 by the WBO and the WBA, #9 by the WBC and #12 by the IBF in addition to being ranked #10 by ESPN.. He returned to the ring on January 23rd in Las Vegas with a third round knockout of Matt Hicks.

The Miami based Herrera brings a record of 16-5-1 into the battle with Flores, all of his wins and losses coming by knockout.

Flores has fought for the USBA and NABO title in two of his last three fights, winning a decision over the heavy hitting Darnell Wilson last February to win the USBA title..

“I don’t want to get ahead of myself but I’m glad this is fight is for NABO title. I am very excited to be fighting for this belt as it will get me closer to facing Victor Ramirez for the WBO title which I’d like to do immediately after this fight.”

The Flores/Herrera bout will be part of the “MARCH BADNESS” pay per view featuring the return to the ring of boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in his bout against Omar Sheika.

“Roy is a true boxing legend and I’m sure it means a great deal to him to fight in his hometown. I remember watching his fight with James Toney when I was a kid; he’s truly one of the greats of the recent era..”

Prior to facing Matt Hicks, Flores won an ESPN televised twelve round decision over Darnell Wilson on February 8, 2008 for the USBA Cruiserweight Title.

“People have been asking me for a year when I’ll be back on TV, so Saturday night is the night. And a great night for fighting” said Flores.
