HOLEWYNE GRABS GBU TITLE AT LEGENDS

The main event was 10 Rounds for the GBU (Global Boxing Union) Welterweight championship: Lisa Holewyne, 145 lbs, (Now 20-12-1 7 KO) of Austin, TX vs Deborah "Sunshine" Fettkether, 145 lbs, (Now 9-4-2 7 KO) of Phoenix, AZ. Holewyne has been flagging in recent bouts but reinvented herself for this event, came in great shape and fought the fight of the night. "Sunshine" Fettkether’s left eye was nearly closed as Holewyne outboxed and outpunched her. All 3 Judges had it for Holewyne by identical scores; 98-92. (for More Results)

On the Legends undercard:

Bout #1: 4 rounds: Jose Reynoso,146 1/2 lbs, of Mira Loma, CA (now 2-0-0) vs. Manual Reyes,147 lbs, of Othello, WA (Now 3-3-2).The southpaw Reynoso won a unanimous decision.

#2: A scheduled six rounder matched Kelsey Jeffries, 123 lbs, of Hollister, CA (Now 24-8-0, 2 KO) vs. Carla Wilcox, 124 lbs of Seattle, WA (Now 4-4-0, 1 KO). Always a slick boxer, Jeffries’ recent training sessions with Buddy McGirt had her setting down on her punches and showing real power. A series of uppercuts and a left hook had Wilcox on the floor and referee Mike Fisher halted the bout at 1:47 of round #1.

#3- 6 Rounds: Rodney Moore, 170 lbs, of Denver, CO (Now 5-8-2, 1 KO) vs. Luis Lopez, 166 1/2 lbs, of Othello WA (Now 4-3-2, 3 KO). Luis Lopez attacked the body while Rodney Moore stayed the head hunter. The unanimous decision was for Lopez; 59-55, 60-54, 58-56.

#4- 4 Rounds: Francois Moncada, 126 lbs, of Medford, OR made his pro debut vs Josh Dahl, 121 lbs, of Everett, WA. Also making his pro debut. Dahl spent a few years fighting for the Army along with his amateur background. Also experienced as an amateur, Moncada was the harder hitter. This hot match could have turned around with 1 Moncada punch, but it never quite landed. Split Decision for Dahl; 38-38, 40-36, 39-37.

#5 - 4 rounds: Job Dunn, 177 lbs, (Now 3-0-0, 3 KO) of Austin TX vs Donny Smith, 180 lbs, (Now 3-2-0, 2 KO)of Moses Lake, WA. Donny Smith didn't answer the bell for the 3rd round claiming gall stone problems. TKO win in 2 for Dunn.

#6 - 8 Rounds: Toney Martinez, 153 lbs, (Now 14-4-1 7KO)of Salem, OR vs Juan Carlos Garcia, 153 1/2 lbs, of Mira Loma, CA (Now 6-2-0- 4 KO)A unanimous decision for Garcia; 77-76 77-75 78-74.
