ESPN2’S “TNF” AT THE SWANKY BELVEDERE IN ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL. ON JUNE 15TH
Tuesday, June. 15th, 2004, At 9 PM ET/PT From The Belvedere, Elk Grove Village, Illinois
CHICAGO (June 2nd, 2004) – Hitz Boxing will produce another night of action packed professional prizefighting on June 15th, 2004, from The Belvedere, located at 1170 West Devon Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The fights will be the second installment of ESPN2’s “Tuesday Night Fights” series.
In the main event, former world title challenger and world ranked contender Omar Sheika, 24-6, with 17 knockouts, of Paterson, New Jersey, will square off against rough and rugged Manu Ntoh,15-7, with 9 knockouts, of Atlanta, Georgia. Scheduled for 10 rounds, this fight is guaranteed to be an all out slugfest from bell to bell.
Now 27 years old, Sheika is looking to return to peak form coming off of his 2003 Fight of the year with NABF Super Middleweight titlist Scott “The Sandman” Pemberton. He knows a win against Ntoh will be the right step towards another title run. “The last time I was in Chicago I blasted out Anwar Oshana, but I know in my return I will have a much tougher time with Ntoh who has been in with the who’s who of the division and I know he will be up to fight me as everybody does because they know that a win over Omar Sheika will jump start anyone’s career, this is truly a crossroads fight that I refuse to lose,” said Sheika.
The co-main event, scheduled for 10-rounds, will feature cruiserweight contender Rich “The Mountain” LaMontagne 28-5, with 23 knockouts, of Everett, Massachusetts, as he takes on Chicagoan Chris “Cold Steel” Thomas 14-3, 13 knockouts, “This is a very intriguing fight between a guy who has been there in Lamontagne and a guy who is trying to get there in Thomas, this makes for a lethal combination” said Bobby Hitz.
More exciting bouts featuring the return of Chicago's top boxing talent will complete the card to include Art “The Polish Warrior” Binkowski, Mike Mollo, Jimmy “Superfly” Sandoval and the much anticipated Chicago debut of 2002 pound for pound UFC lightweight World Champion Jens “Lil Evil” Pulver and more…

thats exactly what I mean... All your nonsence & bull shit you talk. I was at 8 COUNT fight on Friday, and loved it, it was a great show.. Mr Pesoli does a great job. As does Hitz boxing. The point I was making is that the city needs both these guys here to elevate Chicago as one of the premier boxing cities. The compitition between these guys is good for the true boxing fan.. These guys just keep elevating the talent on thier respective shows.Keep up the good work guysp.s. I'm just a boxing fan, I have no association with either promoter..

And one more interjection here--how can you claim to be Chicago's #1 boxing promoter when all of your boxing shows are outside Chicago? Elk Grove Village? Rosemont? Looks to me as if only one boxing promoter is doing shows in Chicago and the next one is on June 18th at the DePaul Athletic Center. Last night fights were very enjoyable and I look forward to seeing Speedy at the next one. Thank you for letting me post.

I agree with mi amigo, Roberto. Chicagoboxing fan sounds like a big cry baby. This is a great site and there's something called freedom of speech. As long as it's not racial, profane, slanderous or overtly negative, POST IT. The only people who should feel ashamed are chicagoboxing fan and his buddies. The are low-class and uproffesional. It's funny that chicagoboxing fan (a worm who has no class brings up the word class. He's the same dumbass who posted his press release on a comment board for the exciting prospect Al "Speedy" Gonzales (who headlines 8 Counts ESPN2 card on June 18th). If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen! What goes around comes around. or didn;t your mommy teach you that? WOW, all the shit talking that goes on this message board really sucks... whoever is running this site should be ashamed. They should really monitor this message board, and not let people post all this garbage. Its great to have local promoters here in Chicago trying to bring world class boxing here. I realize everyone has thier own opinions about boxers and/or promoters, but guys have a little class...

Swanky? What kind of word is that to describe a boxing venue? Sounds more like a chick fashion show--maybe that's what it really is.And yes, Stanley, what happened to Don King--remember all the talk about him in January of this year. Guess its too cold for anyone from Florida to come to Chicago.

Nowhere fights in a nowhere town at a nowhere restaurant. La Mantagne got KO'd in his last fight. Sheika has lost 4 of his last 6 fights. Admission for this kind of garbage should be $5. Do yourself a favor and enjoy some real action at the DePaul Athletic Center on July 18th. The fights will be on ESPN 2
