Miguel Hernandez, Luciano Perez & David Estrada on Fight Card at Hawthorne Race Course on August 13th; Speedy Plans Return to the Ring!
Doors will open at 7pm, first bell is scheduled for 8pm. Tickets, starting at $25.00 can be purchased in advance by calling 312-226-5800. Said Dominic Pesoli of the event, "its a terrific opportunity for our loyal fans to be a part of a great evening at a high quality venue. The ring and seating will be on the beautiful infield grounds at the race course with all the excitement and fantastic fights our events are known for. In the case of rain, we have additional contingency plans to move the event indoors at the race course."
Also appearing on the card is local favorite KO artist welterweight Luciano "El Gallo Bravo" Perez, 9-0 (8KO's) in the co-main event. Perez looks to continue his torrid pace through his opponents with seven of his knockouts coming in the first two rounds. Additionally on the card is fast rising prospect, David "The Weezel" Estrada, 5-1 (3KO's) who is coming off a huge nationally televised battle on June 18th at the DePaul Athletic Center which saw him stop the tough as nails Shay Mobley in the sixth round. More information on these and other bouts will be announced shortly. Al "Speedy" Gonzales returns to the gym in the next couple of weeks and discussed his current status by saying, "it was a tough, close fight against Hopkins, unfortunately it didn't end the way I wanted it to. I'd like to fight him again in the near future. Right now, I'm getting back in the gym and want to fight again soon, hopefully in September. Now I know I can bang with the top guys at 140 and those are the guys I want to tangle with." Speedy also stated "thanks to all the great Chicago fans who brought their support at the June 18th show, it meant a lot to me." More news on "Speedy"'s next fight will be announced in the coming weeks.
