Lamon Brewster: “I expected this kind of fight. I knew he would be tough. I wasn’t scared before they announced the decision, but I was concerned. I felt I had done enough to win, but I was not happy with my performance. “I wanted to be patient, but I think I was a little too patient. I think we gave the fans what they came to see and watch, and that was a good fight.
“It doesn’t always matter what the media thinks of you or where you are ranked. This fight was about heart and determination. Neither one of us quit, and that’s why I didn’t go down in the eighth round.
“I will give him a rematch if that’s what the people want, but it’s up to my promoter Don King to make the final decision.”
Kali Meehan: “I’m happy. I stood here for 12 rounds for the heavyweight title. A lot of people don’t believe I belonged here, but I think I do. I hope the boxing public in America can say I was good enough to be here.
“It was the judges job to score the fight, it was my job to try to win it. I felt I did enough to win. If the fight went to me or if it went to Brewster, I couldn’t disagree.
