DeBlasio Joins Showtime Boxing Lineup

Senior Vice President/General Manager, Sports & Event Programming for SHOWTIME Networks Inc. Ken Hershman has named Chris DeBlasio to Director, Sports Communications. In addition, Hershman promoted communications staff members Ivy Moon and Minerva Martinez to Manager, Sports Communications. DeBlasio and his team will be responsible for media relations and PR outreach for SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, America’s No. 1 boxing network, including the highly anticipated rematch between Diego Corrales and Jose Louis Castillo on Oct. 8 (Showtime PPV).

DeBlasio joins Hershman’s team at SHOWTIME with more than eight years of media relations and event experience. He has worked for the network’s PR agency of record, Brener Zwikel & Associates, Inc. for the past five years - three in Los Angeles and the last two-plus in BZA’s New York City satellite office.

“The timing could not be better,” said Hershman, who has headed the sports and event group for two years. “Our boxing programming has been explosive all year long and we are looking to build on that with a terrific fall line up. The PR effort is as important as any to the success of our shows. We have a great team in place and I am looking forward to Chris leading them to even greater accomplishments in the future.”
