8 Count Fights Galore Weekend: Tonight, Cuevas vs. Ouma; Friday, Lopez at Cicero Stadium; Sat., Perez vs. 'Contender' Gomez!

A huge weekend of professional boxing action covering both coasts as well as Chicagoland takes place this weekend as 8 Count Productions' fighters are seen internationally on HBO Latino, Telefutura/Univision and ESPN.

Thursday night, October 13th, junior middleweight "Classy" Freddie Cuevas, 25-7 (17KO's) takes on former world champion Kassim Ouma, 21-2-1 (13KO's) at the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The scheduled ten round bout will be broadcast internationally on HBO Latino starting at 10pm EST, 9pm CST. Said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, "it's a very busy time and an excellent opportunity for Freddie and Luciano as well as our new signees Gilbert and Mike Gonzalez. The boxing world will be watching these bouts and we're very excited for our guys."

This Friday night, 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING and Bob Arum's Top Rank Incorporated return to Cicero Stadium, 1909 S. Laramie in Cicero. Headlining the seven bout terrific evening of professional boxing is two timeworld champion Jose Luis Lopez, 47-4-2 (37KO's) of Durango, Mexico in a ten round junior middleweight bout against Vinroy Barrett, 21-3 (11KO's) of Nashville, TN.

Co-headlining the LATIN FIRE/SOLO BOXEO DE MILLER event is an eight round welterweight bout between new 8 Count Productions' signee Gilbert Venegas, 8-1-1 (5KO's) and Steve Vincent, 8-3 (7KO's) of St. Louis, MO. Tickets, starting at $30 can be purchased in advance by calling 312-226-5800. Doors open at 6pm, first bell is 7pm. The action packed undercard includes the following bouts; "Macho" Miguel Hernandez vs. Jeremiah Torres, six rounds, middleweights; Mike Gonzalez vs. Antoine Hicks, four rounds, lightweights;Mike Nevitt vs. Jason Medina, six rounds, cruiserweights; David "The Weezel" Estrada vs. Kendall Gould, six rounds, middleweights; and Carney Bowman vs. Leo Martinez, six rounds, lightweights

Luciano "El Gallo Mohicano" Perez, jets to Los Angeles this week for a "Contender" battle with Alphonso Gomez on Saturday night at the Staples Center broadcast live on ESPN at 11pm EST, 10pm CST. KO Artist Perez, 12-2-1 (11KO's) will square off against Gomez, 13-3 (4KO's) in a five round welterweight bout.
