Pemberton & Donald ON NER Tonight

WOBURN, Mass. – Martin Falkenberg, former Director of Marketing for the Boston Celtics, has been named Director of Marketing for New England Ringside (NER), President Rick Brutti announced today.

Falkenberg is a Chicago native who graduated from Notre Dame and earned his MSPE from Western Illinois. He worked in sales for the Chicago White Sox, accepted a promotions position with the Seattle SuperSonics, and he later worked for the Boston Celtics from 1994 to 2001.

“With Marty’s tremendous background in sports marketing,” Brutti remarked, “he brings to New England Ringside the creative ideas and invaluable contacts to help us expand our fan base. Our ongoing plan is to market boxing to other sports fans and Marty’s experience working for major league organizations in basketball and baseball is going to be a major asset. We’re excited to hire him and Marty is going to be a big part of our 2006 sports marketing campaign.”

Falkenberg was the “Most Inspirational Boxer” during his days at Notre Dame. He also was the recipient of the John Engdahl Award as top fundraiser for Massachusetts while completing the 2000 San Diego Marathon.

“I’ve always had a passion for the sport of boxing and it’s clear to me that the team at New England Ringside, Rick Brutti in particular, shares that passion and is committed to building the NER brand,” Falkenberg explained. “Rick understands the need for a diversified marketing mix. An integrated marketing approach will give us a better chance to realize our goals and objectives.

“Rick is dedicated to charity and Boston community efforts in particular. This is extremely important to me. New England Ringside plans to include a charitable element in all of our future marketing programs and campaigns.”

WOBURN, Mass. – IBF super middleweight contender Scott “Sandman” Pemberton (29-3-1, 24 KOs) and world heavyweight contender Larry “The Legend” Donald (42-4-3, 24 KOs) are this Thursday night’s scheduled guests on the New England Ringside Radio.
