CHICAGO – Tuesday April 11th – An "A" student, getting into a fight at school is the last thing 10 year old Joshuah Hernandez would normally do.

However, that's exactly what he did Tuesday night. Fighting in the halls of Curie High School for the Chicago Park District, "Macho" Miguel Hernandez' son, Joshuah, fought furiously, but ultimately lost his 11th amateur boxing match.

His father, the World Boxing Council the U.S.A. Middleweight Title holder, is slated to fight former IBF Light Middleweight Champion Raul Marquez at the Coushatta Casino and Resort in Kinder, Louisiana on April 29th.

Commenting on his son's bout via email, Miguel Hernandez had the following to say:

“Hello, just wanted to let you know that Joshuah lost his fight today. It was a good action fight; every round was non-stop punching. I felt that he did enough to win and a lot of people thought that he won the fight. I told Joshuah to go in there and give 100%because the rounds go fast, and at the end of the fight I asked him if he felt good about his performance and his answer was yes, so we take this as a learning experience, This is what he wants to do, so he knows to take each loss like a win and move on. You know, unlike me, I learn as I go in my professional career."

Joshua Hernandez fought in the 70 lb. weight class of the open division. With the loss, Joshuah Hernandez' amateur record is now 6-5.

His father, Miguel Hernandez has a record of 19-3 with nine knockouts as a professional; as an amateur, he was 6-3.
