UFC Heavyweight Champion and a friend at ringside
CHICAGO - Last month at the Aragon Ballroom, the Ultimate Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion, Andrei Arlovski, was spotted at ringside watching lightweight prospect David Diaz narrowly defeat Silverio Ortiz at a televised boxing match put on by local promoter, 8 Count Productions. Diaz and Arlovski are friends through their affiliation at JABB Boxing Gym in Chicago.
On Friday, April 15th, Arlovski will defend his title against vaunted puncher Tim Silvia at Arrowhead Pond Stadium, which seats 10,000.
This will be the first mixed martial art, UFC championship held in California after December 28th legalization of the sport in California.
