CHICAGO - David "The Weezel" Estrada is a big fan of playing "Texas Hold'em." Calling from a polker tournament, he talked about playing a different game, fighting boxer James Kirkland in Oklahoma in a six rounder on the "Cinco de Mayo" holiday held May 5th.

"He hasn't fought in three years. He fought at 147, but now he's moving up to 160," said Estrada."This is pretty much a make 'em, break 'em fight for me. I thought the opportunity was right. I don't fight creme puffs. I'm here to win."

James Kirkland is 11-0 with nine knockouts. His last fight, on November 6, 2003, he stopped Russell Jordan in the first round weighing 148.

David Estrada is 9-5 with seven knockouts. In his last bout in February, he was stopped by Renan St. Juste, a fighter some feel will eventually win the Canadian Middleweight Title, in the fourth round.

Estrada added, "If the money's right and it's the right fight, I'll take it."

One thing you've got to say about Estrada is that when the chips are down, he goes for it. You've got to admire that in a fighter.
