De La Hoya has plenty of fight
Former champion defeats Mayorga in the sixth round

LAS VEGAS - Ricardo Mayorga, prior to his fight Saturday with Oscar De La Hoya, said De La Hoya wouldn't be man enough to stand and fight with him in spite of everything he had said about De La Hoya and his wife, Millie.

Mayorga was so wrong.

De La Hoya, recapturing glory in spectacular fashion, stopped Mayorga in the sixth round to take the World Boxing Council super welterweight title in front of about 14,000 at MGM Grand.
