Fred Ryan: Banks & Zepeda Head Up Youthful Crew to Watch!

By Fred Ryan
Grand Avenue Boxing Club

PORTLAND, Oregon - The Grand Avenue Boxing Club is making waves. Watch for our guys, note their names and remember: Youth will be served. In particular, keep an eye out for the following young men:

160 David Banks 10-0
180 Nelson Zepeda 7-1

Banks has just turned 23 and off a great win against the undefeated Paul Clavette, The No.2 ranked Canadian Middle in Quebec 2 weeks ago.

Nelson Zepeda has just turned 20 and was in the Western Olympic trials at 17.. His only loss was very highly disputed to Ronald Johnson over in Denver last Feb., Johnson took a lot of punishment and hasn't boxed since despite signing with Don King.

Nelson is 6' 4" and boxes between 175-185, is a growing boy and just might be the future of the Heavyweights..

A check of these boxers records will show that they are travelling in to other boxers home turf and beating them in their backyards.

As I said, exciting things are coming out of Portland's Grand Avenue Boxing Club.
