Euro-Beat Update: Zam Zam Surives Knockdown, Stops Wyatt in 7!

AARHUS, Denmark, June 9 - WBA I/C jr middle champ Reda Zam Zam retained the title in style stopping brave but outgunned American Joe Wyatt in seven. It was over at 1.35 of the round as Wyatt went down for the second time. He was also on the floor in the sixth.
The only bright moment for the American came in the second when he floored an off balance Zam Zam with a left hook. After that Zam Zam took over picking off his agressive opponent with sharp counters and was by the fifth scoring almost at will. Wyatt was tough but appeared to have no answer to Zam Zamīs speed and slick boxing. The Dane is now 20-0.
Russian Maxim Nesterenko again beat Christian Bladt on a close, hardfought six-round unanimous decision.
Bladt have developed a bad habit of throwing big, wide hooks and upercuts from both hands - they look good but donīt work against tough veterans like Nesterenko, who floored Bladt in the fourth with a short right hook, wobbled him in the fifth and came out a deserved winner at the end.
Dennis Holbaek returned at jr welter and won a unanimous decision over Frenchman Brahim Bariz after six. Holbaek was sharp in the first but it became quite messy at the end.
Cruiser Anders Hugger beat Russian Alexander Kotlobay on points after a war that saw both men stunned several times. Kotlobay had the bigger punch while Hugger was the better boxer. At the end the boxer won but it was close enough to go either way.
Higly ranked feather Spend Abazi got a decent workout from Ukrainian Gennadyi Delisandru in another six-rounder.
