'Destiny' Update: David Diaz Now to Fight Cristian Favela for IBA Title Fri. Night!
Fight to be Telecast on Delayed Basis Saturday Due to World Cup

CICERO, Ill. - Lightweight contender and former Olympian David Diaz will square off with Cristian Favela for the IBA Lightweight World Championship in a scheduled twelve round main event this Friday night at Cicero Stadium. Due to an illness, Efren Hinojosa had to drop out of the scheduled fight with Diaz.
Favela fought to a draw last year with Hinojosa and owns a victory over former world champion Willie Jorrin. Favela was scheduled to fight on June 20th and should be in excellent condition for his bout with Diaz.
Please note that due to the World Cup Soccer Championship Tournament there will be no live broadcast of this event on Friday night. The event will be broadcast on a tape delayed basis on Saturday, June 17th.
The site of the fight, Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie in Cicero, Illinois, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 6pm with the first bell at 7pm.
