JEFFRIES IN TIGHT DRAW WITH HERNANDEZ


Results from the Thursday, June 15 fight card at Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville, Oregon.


In the 10 round main event, popular Kelsey Jeffries, (122 lbs) now 34-8-2, 2 KO’s of Gilroy, CA fought a tough split draw with Melissa Hernandez, (124.5 lbs) now 3-0-1, 1 KO, of New York, NY. Hernandez is a former National Amateur Champion and NY Golden Gloves Champ. The three judges scored 95-93 for Jeffries, 96-94 for Hernandez and 95-95.
On the undercard:


Jr. Welterweights—8 rounds
Tyrone Harris, (139.5 lbs) now16-1, 13 KO, of Lansing, MI won a unanimous decision over Steve Valdez, (142 lbs) now 22-35-1, 7 KO, of Denver, CO


Jr. Welterweights—6 rounds
The bout between Molly McConnell, (145 lbs) 5-1, 2 KO’s, of Portland, OR and Victoria Cisneros,(143 lbs) 2-3-1, 1 KO of Albuquerque, NM was stopped by order of the ringside physician at 1:13 of the first round due to McConnell suffering a cut over the left eye as a result of an accidental head butt. McConnell took stitches afterward.


Cruiserweights—4 rounds
Nelson Zepeda, (190 lbs) now 8-1-1, 3 KO of Portland, OR won every round and a unanimous decision over James Brock, (192 lbs) now 13-34-2, 5 KO, of Los Angeles, CA. This was Zepeda’s third bout with Brock and his third decision win.


Jr. Middleweights—6 rounds
Hugo Nunez, (150.5 lbs) now 3-1-1, 3KO, of Portland, ORdrew with Allen Cespedas, (149 lbs) now 4-3-1, 2 KO, of Oakland, CA


Jr. Lightweights—6 rounds
Juan Jaramillo, (130 lbs) now 6-4-2, 1 KO, of Portland, ORlost by unanimous decision to Anthony Vasquez, (128.5 lbs) now 5-3-2, 1KO, of Midland, TX

This ladie Hernandez can really fight. I was surprised that she was being matched so tough, so early on, but she fought a great fight. This is the second time I've seen here fight, and she she just keeps getting better.
