Hernandez is promoted by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions.
Speaking of his opportunity to fight Campas, Miguel, “I’m preparing for the world champion Campas. There’s been talk of his next fight being in August against John Duddy in New York City so I’m sure he will be in great shape and be 100% ready. This is a business so I don’t have any animosity but if I beat Campas, I want the same opportunity to fight Duddy.” Speaking of his last fight with Raul Marquez, the classy Hernandez said, “Marquez was off for a while but he came in like a champion. He was in great shape and very well prepared to fight me. It was a confidence booster to know that I could battle with him considering he was a former world champion and the first lefty I had fought in my career. I didn’t execute everything I wanted to, he was just the better man that night.” Talking about his preparation, Miguel said, “I’ve been sparring with a lot of guys with different styles,” a list that includes Polish Champion Roman Shkarupa, “Contender” participant Rudy Cisneros, undefeated prospect Jorge Gonzalez, slick super middleweight David “The Weezel” Estrada and highly regarded amateur Cedric Agnew and Ashour Eshoo. “It’s been very hot in the gym and I’m sure that’s how it’s going to be on Saturday night at the ballpark. That’s okay though, I can take the heat, always have, always will.” Said Pesoli, “Miguel’s a warrior, he’s in great shape and is very well prepared. He fought a terrific battle with Marquez and he’s ready to go on Saturday night. The fans at the ballpark are in for a great fight.” Also on the Grand Rapids area card is 8 Count promoted Gilbert Venegas, 9-2-2 (6KO’s) who will battle Lanardo Tyner, 12-0 (9KO’s) in a ten round welterweight bout as part of the eight bout card. The next 8 Count Productions event, ARAGON SHOWDOWN, featuring the finest in Chicago professional boxing will take place on July 21st. The outstanding card features the return of bantamweight warrior Francisco Rodriguez, 7-1 (5KO’s), undefeated light heavyweight Tavoris Cloud, 10-0 (9KO’s), heavyweight KO artist Carl Davis, 8-2 (7KO’s) exciting junior welterweight prospect Jeff Curran, 1-0-1 (1KO) and a special attraction bout featuring Chicagoland fan favorite Donovan George, 8-0 (6KO’s).
