GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – This Friday, September 1st, 1996 Olympic Boxing Team Alumnus and the new, World Boxing Council Interim Lightweight Champion David Diaz will celebrate his world title over dinner at Cabs Wine Bar Bistro.
On August 12th, Diaz ran his record up to 32-1-1 (17 KO's) with a stunning 10th round stoppage of Jose Armando Santa Cruz, 23-2 (13 KO's) at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Chef/Owner Luis Ayllon’s brother, Juan C. Ayllon—who serves as News Editor and a staff writer for the Cyber Boxing Zone—will read and present a letter from WBC President Jose Sulaiman to Diaz. Joining them will be Tanya Diaz, David’s wife, heavyweight contender Fres Oquendo, and several others. Their dinner party will commence at 7 PM.
