Euro-Beat Update: Abraham vs. Miranda Now in Wetzlar & More!

IBF middle champ Arthur Abraham postponed defence against Edison Miranda have now been rescheduled for September 23 in Wetzlar, a town located just north of Frankfurt/Main. This means that the already scheduled Sauerland event for this date in Muhlheim is cancelled.
That show was to have featured Marco Huck vs Pietro Aurino for the vacant EU cruiser title and a number of other interesting fights. There is also a number of interesting matchups for the undercard of the cancelled August 26 show in Oldenburg. Sauerland Event will decide next week on the undercard to the Wetzlar bill. Some might be moved to Hako Seveckeīs annual charity show in Hattersheim on the very same date.
Italian Giuseppe Lauri will take on Welshman Jason Cook September 22 in Port Talbot, Wales, for the vacant EBU 140 lb title with Matchroom as promoter. The winner will then fight veteran Gianluca Branco, who actually is the mandatory co-challenger for the title but agreed to step aside to make Lauri vs Cook possible.
EBU feather champ Cyril Thomasī defence against Italian Alberto Servidei that was scheduled for September 16 have been postponed due to a lack of TV date.
EBU middleweight champ "Idi" Amin Asikainen defends the title against German Alexander Sipos October 6 at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki. Itīs a voluntary defence of the belt Amin won from Sebastian Sylvester June 3. In the co-feature jr welter Juhu Tolppola takes on experienced and tough Frenchman Gabriel Mapouka.
