GLEN ELLYN, Ill. - During a celebration of David Diaz' recent win of the WBC Interim Lightweight Title at Cabs Wine Bar Bistro, it was discovered that Diaz had something profoundly in common with one of the wait staff. It turned out that, like David, Ionel (pronounced Janell) Sabau also boxed in the Olympics.

Whereas David Diaz fought in the 1996 Olympics for the U.S., Sabau boxed in the 1964 Olympics at 157 kilograms for Luxembourg.

The common bond was clear immediately, as the two chatted about their experiences. Sabau was profoundly touched that he got to visit with David Diaz.

More photos of the celebration will be forthcoming shortly.
