The main event featured local hometown favorite Randall Bailey ( 34-5, 31 KO’S) versus Shawn Gallegos ( 16- 3, 5 KO’S) from Las Vegas, Nevada, by way of New Mexico.
Gallegos came in as Bailey’s toughest opponent in Bailey’s recent six fight comeback. Bailey fans which were the strong majority in the building were hoping for a quick first or second round KO as they had been accustomed to.
By the first round it was evident that Gallegos had the skills and determination to give Bailey a fight and take him on to further rounds and possibly score an upset. In the fourth round surprisingly local fans started chanting for Gallegos as he was putting on a good effort avoiding Bailey’s strong right. The fifth round was the best round for Gallegos as he connected Bailey with a strong left to the jaw. In the 6th round the more experienced veteran Bailey knew he had to turn it up a notch and put Gallegos away to avoid any chance being upset. Bailey fired an onslaught of heavy punches that would have brought any other boxer down. Gallegos manly and valiantly avoided being knocked down for several rounds. It wasn’t until 1:55 of the eighth that referee Tommy Kimmons stepped in and called the fight. With the victory Bailey captured the Vacant IBA Intercontinental Junior Welterweight title. Look for Bailey 33 years old to possibly fight for a major title again in the near future possibly locally at the Hard Rock Arena. As for the young 25 year old game Gallegos, look for him to take this, his toughest fight, and learn from it, and challenge for another regional or major title again in the future. In the co-main event Colombian middleweight Samuel Miller ( 16-0, 12 KO’S) continued to impress as he knocked Steve Walker (19-14,14KO’S) down three times within two minutes to score the impressive TKO. Currently his team is having on going negotiations with Showtime Boxing for a possible upcoming match up on SHO BOX. Local favorites from Coalition Boxing also impressed. Lightweight Jesus Pabon ( 8-0, 6 KO’S) won by knockout in the first round over Aaron Sannipoli ( 3-2, 3KO’S). Stable mate junior middleweightEliezer Cepeda ( 3-0, 3KO’S) won by TKO at 1:25 of the second round over Anthony Concepcion ( 1-8). In another first round TKO, southpaw Danny Vanstaden ( 3 -1, 2 KO’S) from Key West , Florida took care of Beriten Russaur ( 0-1). Vanstaden was making his first appearance at the Hard Rock and had a huge entourage of fans from Key West that made the trip to see him. All in All it was a fun night of Boxing. Look for Warriors next show to take place Friday, December 1st. Once again at the Seminole Hard Rock Arena. Tentatively scheduled are heavyweights Michael Moorer, Oliver McCall and Roman Greenberg.
