SOMEWHERE IN MINNESOTA -- FORMER Olympian and professional heavyweight boxer Duane Bobick went ice fishing on a frozen lake.

As an amateur, Bobick beat Teofilo Stevenson in international competition and Larry Holmes at the 1972 Olympic Trials to make the US Olympic Team. However, he was stopped by Stevenson, who went on to win the Gold Medal, in 1972 Summer Olympics.

As a professional, he compiled a record of 48-4 and 42 knockouts, inlcuding a knockout win over eventual champion Mike Weaver. On May 11, 1977, he was stopped at 58 seconds into the first round by Ken Norton.

Bobick retired following consecutive knockout losses to John Tate and George Chaplin in 1979.
