Tickets for Briggs-Ibragimov Punchout Selling Fast!
“Fight fans have truly responded to this fight, and I’m not surprised,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “Not only are these fighters the two best Heavyweights in the world, but fans are eager to see Briggs returning to his hometown as a World Champion, and also eager to see the crowning of boxing’s next great Heavyweight in Ibragimov. March 10th is going to be a great night for boxing.”
HBO will televise Briggs vs Ibragimov - which is presented by Seminole Warriors Boxing and Golden Boy Promotions, in association with Golden Grain, Nafta Moskva, Global Advertising Strategies and Madison Square Garden – live beginning at 10pm ET / and on delay at 10pm PT.
The Brooklyn-born Briggs (48-4-1, 42 KOs) electrified the boxing community last November when he stopped reigning WBO Heavyweight Champion Sergei Liakhovich with one second left in the 12th and final round to earn his first World Title. Winner of 12 in a row, all by knockout, Briggs will face a stiff challenge in former Olympic Silver medalist Ibragimov (19-0-1, 16 KOs), an exciting two-fisted puncher who makes up for his lack of size with an aggressive attack, power, and unquestioned heart. He will return to fight in New York City for the first time since a third round TKO of former World Champion Al Cole in March of 2005.
And though the days are intense in training camp for both men as the fight draws nearer, the champion and the challenger are ready for war.
“Ibragimov isn’t ready for me and I’m gonna show the world that on March 10th,” said Briggs. “I will win by knockout.”
“I’m tired of talking about the fight, I just want to get in the ring and take my title,” said Ibragimov. “This is what I’ve been working for since I started boxing, and I won’t be denied of my dream.”
