Press Release

Friday, March 16, 2007

PRESIDENT Rex Walker and the NABF are proud to announce that NABF Lt Flyweight Titlist, Carina Moreno has been chosen Female Fighter of the Year.

Carina has had a long and valiant journey to this place in boxing history. As one of the top Female Amateur boxers in the world, she and her trainer Rick Noble learned that hard work and talent were not enough to get Carina the recognition she deserved. It wasn’t until the NABF and promoter Christian Printup took notice of her that things began to happen. And they happened quickly.

In June 2006, Carina won the NABF Lt Flyweight Title. Then, in February 2007, she became the WBC Interim Strawweight World Champion. Two days before Carina flies to Cancun to accept her NABF Award, she will battle Nanako Kikuchi, the WBC Strawweight Champion, at the Tachi Palace in Lemoore, California, to determine who the real WBC World Champion will be.

We are in awe of Carina’s abilities and determination. She is the proper spokeswoman and representative of Champions everywhere.
