HOLLYWOOD, Fl, March 16 – It’s fitting that a meeting of two heavyweight kings should take place in a palace, and Seminole Warriors Boxing and Golden Grain Promotions are pleased to announce that they have secured such a location for the WBO Heavyweight Championship bout on June 2nd between champion Shannon Briggs and number one contender Sultan Ibragimov.

The 12,000 seat Luzhniki Sports Palace in Moscow will host this clash of heavyweight titans, and great things are expected for the unbeaten Ibragimov’s homecoming.

“The new king will be crowned in a palace, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “This is a wonderful arena with a lot of history, and we expect that the fight fans of Russia will sell it out and watch their favorite son challenge for the most prestigious title in boxing.”

The Luzhniki Sports Palace, part of the Luzhniki Sports Complex, is the home arena for hockey’s Dynamo Moscow and has been used in the past for World and European Championship competitions. It also the arena where the famed 1972 Summit Series between, the Soviet Union and Canadian hockey teams, took place.
