BARRERA “BLOWS” PACQUIAO FIGHT

LAS VEGAS -- Juan Manuel Marquez (46-3-1, 35 KOs) UD 12 Marco Antonio Barrera (63-4, 42 KOs) vs. (WBC jr. lightweight belt) Marco opened well and appeared to be up after five. In round seven, Marquez had Barrera doing the Mexican Hat Dance, before a right Barrera right hand dropped Juan Manuel. Showing either his frustration, or an apparent lack of class, Marco walked over and clipped Marquez while he was down (WTF was he thinking?) Referee Jay Nady overruled the knockdown and then docked Barrera a point.

Marquez was the faster, crisper and younger looking fighter here. The loss means the Barrera-Manny Pacquiao rematch will never occur. One of, if not the biggest fight in boxing, and it’s not going to happen. Scores: 118-109 & 116-111 twice.
