World Boxing Cares Champs, NY Dignitaries to Celebrate Opening of New PAL Facility

NEW YORK CITY -- ON March 31st, the World Boxing Council's, World Boxing Cares initiative will bring a team of ambassadors to Brooklyn, New York to celebrate the opening of the Police Athletic Leagues new Red Hook boxing facility.

On hand will be five-time world champion Iran Barkley, former PAL youth boxers and current top professional boxing prospects, Jorge Teron, Joel Costillo and Gary Stark, Jr. as well as “The Real Million Dollar Baby” Maureen Shea, boxing greats Edgar Santana, Chika Nakamura, Alicia Ashley, Boxing Digest’s Sean Sullivan, and world renowned boxing writer and analyst, Steve Farhood.

The new PAL opening expands the highly successful, Cops and Kids program that promotes positive interaction between young New Yorkers and volunteer Police Officers in al five boroughs.

The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, honored guests, a boxing demonstration, autograph signing and more.
