ARREST FLOYD FOR SAYING HE’S RAY!
Wollaston, MA.- In the end, the fight to “save boxing” did just enough to prove to non-boxing fans that the sport can still be a hell of a lot of fun. No, Floyd Mayweather-Oscar De La Hoya was not ”Sugar Ray Leonard – Thomas Hearns, but it was an event that was intriguing – particularly accompanied and hyped up by HBO’s 24/7 series. The fight brought out the disgruntled hardcore fight fan, who shelled out the ridiculous $55 to watch what turned into what we really all expected – Mayweather turning the fight into a “Mayweather” fight. After struggling a bit early, Floyd found his rhythm and pot shot his opponent to a decision victory. Put another win in the books for Floyd, it what would be described best as another yawner.
