Mexican-Puerto Rican Rodriguez Showdown Set for September 14th in Chicago!

CHICAGO - Popular Chicago super bantamweights Francisco “El Nino Azteca” Rodriguez and Ivan “The Baby Faced Assassin” Rodriguez will square off in a Mexican vs. Puerto Rican cross town showdown for the Illinois State Super Bantamweight Title on Friday, September 14th at the Congress Theater, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.
The battle of the Rodriguez’s will be featured at “PRIDE”, another outstanding evening of world class professional boxing presented by Chicago’s 8 Count Productions and Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc. along with TCF Bank and TECATE Beer.

Said Pesoli, “This fight exemplifies Chicago boxing in which both guys truly are fighting for their ethnic pride. Both Francisco and Ivan have a huge fan base and to their credit and respect of the fans they jumped at the opportunity to fight each other.”

The 23 year old Francisco, 9-1 (6KO’s) is coming off a terrific win over Alejandro Garcia on July 13th at the Congress Theater.
Ivan, 26 years old, brings a record of 8-3-1 (3KO’s) into the battle with Francisco. He is coming off a dominating performance over Vineash Rungea also on July 13th at the Congress Theater.
