September 19, 2007 - A new opponent has been scheduled for WBC CABOFE Middleweight Champion, Miguel Espino as he's set to defend his title at the Double Tree Hotel in Bakersfield Ca on September 21, 2007. After Juan De La Rosa pulled out with an injury, Ray Ortega steps in to face the North Hollywood native in a rematch of their last fight, where Espino (16-2-1 5 KO's) won a unanimous decision.

When Ortega (12-5-3 7 KO's) got word that De La Rosa was out, he called promoter Manny Cota demanding a rematch as he stated, "I feel I was robbed in my last fight. This time I'm not going to leave it in the hands of the judges. I going to knock him out and end his winning streak and take his belt." Espino, who's riding a 7 fight winning streak is excited to step back in the ring and defend this title as he mentioned, "I was looking forward to fighting De La Rosa, but he got injured and now my focus is on Ortega. I won by decision last time we met but this time around I'm going to stop him."

This bout is promoted by Cota Boxing Promotions. Tickets priced at $50 (ringside) $35 (general) can be purchased by calling (818) 274-7129.

Eric Mitchell and Sergey Stepkin fight for vacant IBF International Jr. Middleweight title

The IBF has sanctioned a bout between Sergey Stepkin (17-2-1 9 KO's) and Eric Mitchell (20-4-1 10 KO's) as they fight for the vacant junior middleweight title. Both fighters are looking to climb the rankings with a win.

Mitchell,k who's been inactive for over a year, says he's ready to get back in the ring while stating, "I've been training real hard for this fight and nothings going to stop me from getting a victory and the belt. I'm coming to end the fight early. Stepkin has his hands full."

Stepkin who lost a unanimous decision to Espino in his last bout is happy to be fighting for a title as he declared, "Mitchell has a big mouth. I guess we'll see if he can back it up. I plan on dominating him with pressure. He'll be in for a big surprise when I take the belt home with me."
