Trainer John Scully (front) poses with fighters he's trained. From the left-to-right: WBA 154 pound world champion Jose Antonio Rivera, former NABF/USBA 135 pound champion Israel "Pito" Cardona, USBA 122 pound champion Mike-Mike Oliver, IBA intercontinental heavyweight champion Lawrence Clay-Bey, WIBF female 135 pound world champion Liz Mueller and WBC Youth 130 pound champion Matt "Sharpshooter" Remillard. (Note: Scully is the assistant trainer/cornerman for Remillard, not the head trainer, and did not train Cardona at the time he actually won his titles)

Coming off last Thursday's signature victory for the International Boxing Organization's super bantamweight title at the Mohegan Sun Casino by his charge, Mike Oliver, noted boxing trainer John Scully is wondering what happened to their shot at the International Boxing Federation title.

"Mike Oliver is rated #2--no one is at #1--and got that position by defeating Cruz Carvajal in July on ESPN in what was billed as an IBF eliminator for Molitor's title," said Scully. "Now I am hearing that there are two guys ranked much lower--9 and 15--who are supposed to be fighting for the mandatory spot? How can this be?"

Good question, Ice.

Quote: The wait in the dressing room before a professional boxing match -that last hour- could be enough to strip a man that never boxed before of whatever pride, desire and heart he THOUGHT he had.
