Promoter Cameron Parks' Rock Solid Promotions hits the Big Time as NABF Light Heavyweight Champion and WBC number three rated contender Chris "Hard Hittin'" Henry marks his return to the ring wars on Wednesday, July 9th in Houston, Texas at the Grand Plaza Hotel vs. seasoned veteran Rubin Williams (29-4,16 KO's) on an action packed fight card that will be beamed worldwide via ESPN2's Wednesday Night Fights.

The heavy handed Henry (21-1, 17 KO's), fresh off a hotly contested and controversial decision loss to Adrian Diaconu on Diaconu's home turf in Romania for the Interim WBC Light Heavyweight Championship had these thoughts to offer on the upcoming contest:

"I am very happy to be fighting once again in front of my hometown fans in Houston as well the ones from the Golden Triangle. Yes, I thought I did more than enough to beat Adrian and it will make me a better and more complete Champion in the long run, but I have put that behind me and have now focused all of my energies on getting rid of Rubin. Williams is a very tough competitor whom all the boxing world knows and has given good, hard fights to Antwun Echols, Alan Green, and Olympians Jeff Lacy and Andre Ward, among others. I am really looking forward to knocking him unconscious for the ten count and putting him on ice!"

"Rubin is a good and tough guy, a gatekeeper if you will, who comes to fight every fight and gives his all, win or lose," says the charismatic young promoter Park. "The most important factors that Chris demonstrated versus Adrian Diaconu were that he can hold his own with any light heavyweight in the world, that he belongs to be rated with the division's elite, and most importantly, that he is a future World Champion." "July is the month of fireworks, national pride and celebration in the United States of America, and we at Rock Solid are very confident that Chris Henry can deliver the knockout explosion versus Rubin Williams on what we feel is a dynamite laden fight card for the in house crowd and international viewing audience on ESPN2" concludes promoter Park.

Also on the card: Stylish southpaw boxer/puncher 2004 US Olympic alternate Austin "No Doubt" Trout (14-0, 11 KO's) takes on fellow undefeated boxer Byron Tyson (9-0, 4 KO's) in the co-feature. The Bob Spagnola managed Las Cruces, New Mexico based Trout, trained by former lightweight contender Louie Burke is a virtually seamless and very fluid boxer that does the majority of his in ring work in a clean line. Trout is very adept at punching, sliding off of, and steering his opponent into 45 degree angle striking lanes, and a real up and comer who looks to be a force to be reckoned with in the upper echelons of the light middleweight division in the near future. Trout's form is what some local veteran boxing observers have labeled as a "cutie" in the ring, somewhat of a cross stylistically speaking between welterweight great Curtis Cokes and former junior middleweight champion Quincy Taylor.

Undefeated Dickinson heavyweight belter and local fan favorite "Mean" Gene Hill (11-0, 10 KO's) goes for the Texas Heavyweight Championship against 6'8, 300 lbs Alfred Happy and is ready and determined to garner his first belt as a professional. "He's going to be delerious and happy when I flatten him, allright!" says Hill, "I'm going to hit him so hard, by the time he wakes up all of his clothes will have gone out of style!" Hill is a compact and very powerful young heavyweight who has been compared to Smokin' Joe Frazier by some members of the Houston fistic fraternity, and unleashes every shot with venom and conviction on the end of his big homerun punches. "I am going to embalm Happy and put him through the canvas, that Texas title belt will be mine and mine alone, nothing is stopping me Wednesday!" says the young heavyweight punisher from Galveston County.

Heavyweight "Big" Steve Collins (17-1, 13 KO's) also appears on the card and is slated to meet veteran David Robinson in a bout that should quench the Houston fight fan's thirst for boxing brutality and a sudden and violent ending replete with heavy impact.

Undefeated light heavyweight prospect and former National amateur champion Alfonso "El Tigre" Lopez (8-0, 6 KO's) looks to continue his winning ways as he brings his well educated and hard earned form of boxing and punching in combination to both the head and body in ring warfare to the table.

Beautiful and exciting super featherweight punching machine Crystal "Choo Choo" Delgado (5-0, 1 KO) is ready to thrill the local crowd once again as she returns with her non-stop punching and aggressiveness, crowd pleasing style to the main ballroom. Delgado is a very well conditioned and ambitious young boxer who has her sights set on lofty accomplishments inside the squared circle and certainly bears keeping an eye on as she climbs the unforgiving, anguishing, yet extremely glorious and potentially very lucrative fierce fistic ladder on her quest to the top of her chosen profession.

As always, the gorgeous and voluptuos Hooters girls will be in attendance to satisfy all of the Houston sports fan's refreshment needs in the Las Vegas big fight style atmosphere, and the stunning and scantily clad ring card girls from The Ritz Cabaret should keep the temperatures and emotions elevated to a fever pitch inside the main ballroom Wednesday night. Ice cold soft drinks, beer and adult beverages, delicious hot food, and mouth watering appetizers all combined makes this July 9th event a can't miss happening in the Bayou City.

The Houston Grand Plaza Hotel is easily accessible at 8686 Kirby Drive @ 610 directly adjacent to Reliant Stadium and convenient valet parking is available.

Tickets for this major sporting event are reasonably priced at $30.00 General Admission, $55.00 and $65.00 Ringside, and $120.00 VIP Ringside for an up close and personal look at professional prizefighting at it's highest level.
