Jimmy Lynch

BORN 1868; New York, New York (Fought out of Albany, New York)
WEIGHT 122-125 lbs

Lynch was sturdy and strong; He fired punches in a relentless manner; The Brooklyn (NY) Daily Eagle wrote (9/25/1892) "Lynch is a little steam engine and he knows absolutely nothing about "going slow." He knows no compromise between headlong speed and a complete standstill. Every pound of pugilistic energy he can summon to his aid will contribute to the fury of his onslaught, but there will be no wildness in his attack." It went on to say "He stands straight up to his work, relying on his ability to stop rather than evade a blow by dodging. He is almost as strong in defense as he is impetuous in attack ..."

Lynch was not the greatest of boxers but he always gave it his best; During his career, he defeated such men as Joe Flaherty, Paddy McBride and Walter Halligan
