Danny McMahon

BORN c. 1877 (Fought out of Philadelphia and Detroit)
DIED February 17 1911; Detroit, Michigan (55 Grand Avenue; Gas Asphxiation)
WEIGHT 115-130 lbs

McMahon was a quick and clever scrapper who had an up-down career; He did not always win but he always gave it his all; Danny knew all the tricks of the ring; As a trainer and as a second in a bout, he was invaluable; Danny's brother, Hughey, was a trainer of Oscar "Battling" Nelson; Both Danny and Hughey contributed to Nelson's ring style

Oscar "Battling" Nelson had this to say about Danny --

Buffalo (NY) Enquirer, November 14 1905

During his career, he beat such men as Jack Lynch, Eugene Rowan, Paddy Gorman, Ole Oleson and Hiram "Hymie" Goldstein; Reportedly, he also beat Jack McKeck
