CHICAGO - Both boxers represented Chicago in the 1996 Olympic Trials. One fought in the Olympics. And both are looking to make a move this year in their respective divisions.
The fighters? David Diaz and Fres Oquendo.
Oquendo, back from a 22 month layoff with a knockout and teamed up with a promoter Lou DiBella, is looking forward to bigger and better things. Ditto for Diaz, who will fight on March 17th on a show promoted by Dominic Pesoli's 8 Count Productions.
Oquendo, who suffered a personal loss this week, plans on returning to the gym next week.
